A review has been made by the USA Weekly News on the performance by Eilin O'Dea of James Joyce's Ulysses Molly Bloom's soliloquy at the end of the James Joyce's Ulysses'. This is recognised as one of the most famous female narratives in modern literature, which was performed by Eilin O'Dea and directed by Liam Carney at the Teachers Club 36 Parnell Square West Dublin 1, from the 25th September - 6th October.
This famous narrative which has been used as the basis of songs, re-appeared in movies, quoted in other literary works and in terms of its effect on Irish culture is one of the most difficult narratives for an actor to perform. Eilin O'Dea performs Molly Bloom's otherwise silent voice to bear her soul on life, love, sex and loneliness. This has been done with absolute artistic genius by Eilen O'Dea in a genuine authentic way. Having heard Eilin O'Dea as Molly Bloom, it is hard to imagine any other actor performing this difficult narrative in anyway near the standard set by Eilin O'Dea. In effect Eilin O'Dea has become the real Molly Bloom is this absolute stunning academy award style performance which will no doubt receive a standing ovation from audiences all around the world.
The USA Weekly News was compelled to give Eilin O'Dea's performance of Molly Bloom the highest industry award that is on offer. There is absolutely no doubt of her receiving the normal top five star industry award. However, the USA WEEKLY NEWShas a special 100 Star Award for performances that are in a class of their own.
Eilin O'Dea's performance of Molly Bloom is one of these performances.
The USA WEEKLY NEWS is confident that when Eilin O'Dea takes her performance of Molly Bloom to London, New York, Australia and the rest of the world, the play will have a very long and successful season.
Awards from the USA WEEKLY NEWS to Eilin O'Dea as Molly Bloom directed by Liam Carney : The normal Industy 5 star award plus the USA WEEKLY NEWS special 100 star award for being is class far above the standard to the normal five star ward performance.
Sincere congradulations from the USA WEEKLY NEWS.....
A performance not to be missed....

KERRY LEIGH and her amazingly funny and provocative one woman show...oh... not really there is also 'baby pumkin' as well... has been selected by International News Limited -INL News Group to be brought to New York as part of the 2008 INL's International Theatre Show
It was decided to let New Yorkers share in Kerry's unique brand of humour in All Change, "about motherhood, babies and her impersonation of a retarded woman with a new baby obsession which isabsolutely superb.
Go and see this show...” John Collins
ALL CHANGE
"Juggling isn't easy - some days you hand your baby a beer and ask your man if he's done a poo-poo. Has this funny mummy gone gaga? Ride the highs and lows of a comedian's experience of first-time motherhood as she shares her tory with painful honesty and curious humour...." Kerry Leigh

Rap on Kerry Leigh
Often mistaken for an Antipodean, Kerry was sent to Australia as a convict when she was just 9 years old for heinous crimes against fashion, returning to the UK in her twenties where she has since developed a dry and witty comedic style musing on the absurdities of life through the eyes of a pseudo-Australian.
She has successfully written and performed her own one-woman comedy theatre show at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007 in which she shares her experience as a first-time mother with painful honesty and curious humour, reviewed here by John Collins:
“…this is a great show!! Kerry Leigh is very funny about motherhood, babies and her impersonation of a retarded woman with a new baby obsession was superb. Go and see this show...”
As resident compere for ‘Laughing Cows’ at The Frog and Bucket in Manchester since 2004, Kerry has become adept at comedy crowd control. Her surreal twist on recent events combined with a talent for quickly building a rapport with the audience makes her a fresh and captivating host each month.
Kerry’s hosting talent is in demand as she now also MCs the recently formed ‘Roughsketch Comedy Club’ in Manchester for which she also writes and performs.
Kerry was invited to Edinburgh as a Semi-finalist in Channel 4’s ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition in 2004 and was a finalist in 2005’s Citylife Comedian of the Year competition, reviewed here by Citylife writer Marissa Burgess:
"...Kerry Leigh displayed a beautifully sardonic edge to express an inventive and refreshing set with an occasional unexpected surreal moment."

Molly Boom-main head line play:staring Eilin O'Dea, a great talented actress from IrelandEilin's love is the theater, however Eilin also wants to also develop her film career. The play is a section of work from the famous Dublin writer James Joyce, which was banned for many years when it was first written, and is an absolute stunning performance that really can not be missed.

Traveller Wagon Wheel Theatre Company
Michael
Collins is a member of the Irish Traveller community. Travellers are an
indigenous minority, documented as being part of Irish society for
centuries. Travellers have a long shared history and value system which
make them a distinct group. They have their own language, customs and
traditions. Michael has been an advocate of Traveller human rights for
over 20 years. He has been developing the idea of establishing a
Traveller Theatre Company which would work with Travellers and other
socially excluded and ethnic minority groups to allow them to tell
there stories and issues in an artistic way. This company will be
called Traveller Wagon Wheel Theatre Company. Michael is an actor,
writer and performer he has acted on stage in the Abby and Olympia
Theatres. Michael has written his own play “It’s a cultural thing or is
it” which he has spent the past two years performing in venues in
Ireland and in the UK.

With the support of SEI, he now has the time and resources to put
energy into developing the project which he feels will not only be of
benefit to Travellers but to Irish society in general. He is also
working on his second show and has the first draft of his second script
ready.
Social
Entrepreneurs Ireland is an organisation aimed at encouraging and
supporting the development of social entrepreneurship in Ireland. Our
mission of promoting social entrepreneurship will be realised by
fostering the early stage development of a new generation of social
entrepreneurs and by actively working in conjunction with the business,
third level, public and voluntary sectors to support the development of
a new social entrepreneurship movement.
We believe that in every generation there are social
entrepreneurs. We believe that these social entrepreneurs are key
agents of change and creators of social value that enrich our society;
Irish examples include Mary Davis, Sister Stanislaus Kennedy and Fr.
Peter McVerry. However, we believe that the current generation of
social entrepreneurs are struggling to grow their ideas and their
organisations and to develop to the point where they change society. In
today's Ireland social entrepreneurs find it hard to get the practical
and moral support they need to make that life changing decision and to
stick with it. We believe that by launching Social Entrepreneurs
Ireland and by encouraging others to join the movement, we can help to
create a space for social entrepreneurship in modern Ireland.
Social Entrepreneurs Ireland directly supports the early
stage development of social entrepreneurs by providing a range of
supports. These supports consist of financial investment in social
entrepreneurs, technical training, peer networking, mentoring and links
to other social entrepreneur networks. Our commitment to the social
entrepreneur is typically from twelve months to two years.
Both these plays are written and performed by
well known Irish actor, Michael Collins.....
which show the history of Travellors in
Ireland...."an absolutely gripping performance"
.............USA Weekly News.......
When asked by the USA Weekly News
how long did it took to write these
two plays...Michael replied...
".....about 24 years....." the reason
why it took so long in is that in fact
the two plays are the story of Michael Collins
and his family's life in Ireland as travellors..
It's a Cultural Thing
is Michael Collins playing as
a Child, from a child's point of view...
Mobile...
is Michael Collins playing the young adult
travellor and shows the real life problems an issues
tavellors faced living in Ireland as against
settled people, who had stable homes and settled
in one town and/or city in Ireland.... while
travellors and their families moved from place
to place, lived in caravans and made a living
selling goods at markets and fairs
throughout Ireland........

The Fife grown, Glasgow based band began as a duo and have grown into a 6 piece ensemble – with Sher Watson (lead vocals, guitar), Dave Webster (trumpet, keys, backing vocals), Tony Courtney (sax, flute), Colin Walker (drums), Andy McDonald (bass) and Gerardo Ballesteros (percussion).
With an eclectic, original sound, the Das are a bit folk, a bit rock, a bit Latino and a bit reggae… and just like their own music, their influences criss-cross genres and include Love, Manu Chao, Tiger Lilies, and The Specials among others.
The Das recently supported Terry Callier in Glasgow and shared a stage with him again at the prestigious Jazz CafÈ in London (after receiving a personal invitation from the man himself).
Das Contras have played King Tuts, Queens Hall, Barfly , Cabaret Voltaire, Princes St. GLadyland, Hobotalk ardens, RSAMD, Royal Concert Hall, The Ferry, Jamhouse and shared a stage with Marlena Shaw, Candi Staton, Acoustic and Derrick Morgan.Das Contras @ Cafe Royal
A cold and wet November evening in Edinburgh was rapidly replaced with
the welcoming warmth and soul of Das Contras in Café Royal.Initial impressions of the ensemble on stage were of lounge music. Butonly if your lounge is painted a deep terracotta, you have a nightlygroup of Latino beauties dressed in tight black dresses tossing backlarge glasses of red wine until four in the morning threatening to
steal your soul and replace it with a never ending madness melancholy and passion.
From beginning to end there was no defining lead person, all of themextremely adept at their relative instruments with attention shiftingfrom sax to keyboard to bass to guitar to the singing. The band had
left any egos at the front door to concentrate on the music. DavWebster’s head was lost in the sound created by his keyboard nodding intime to the audience’s reciprocating appreciation, so smoothly and
timely executed. This was complemented by Sherman Watson on acoustiand lead vocals, a charismatic presence despite his shambolicappearance. The drums and bass provided the backbone of timeless soulshaking grooves and the funk needed, holding back to add a more subtleflavour to the slower numbers. The bass guitarist was all over his
instrument, especially when the strap fell off his shoulder appearingto propose to the drummer on one knee for the rest of the song. Thhorn section added that final harmony. The sax was (I can’t believe I’m
writing this) a tranquil yet also a powerful force driving the band,
while at other times entirely uplifting.A refreshing change to guitar bands, their maturity and obviouslystudied dedication to their craft created layers of warmth of sometimesup beat jazz and reggae to despairing sadness. Think Ruben Wilson, gypviolins, Miles Davies, filterless French cigarettes, The Bosstones, bull
fighting and Ray Manzerick and you’ll probably wonder what the hell I’mtalking about.
There appeared to be a fairly large fan base with them and rightly soIt was not just a gig but a celebration and a chance to party.A joy to watch and even better to listen to.

Hugo
Chavez, friend of the poor, has booked a floor at the Savoy. Odd that
the guest editor couldn’t find more room for this pieceThe U2 star fills The Independent with his chums and misses a good story, says william langley. Hold the front page! Come to that, hold all of them! Preferably, as far away as possible. Todays edition of The Independent is guest-edited by Bono, the U2 frontman who needs no help to change a lightbulb. The whole damned universe already basks in his glow!
The first thing you see is a big, red square, decorated
by Damien Hirst, Britain's richest artist (one of whose pickled sheep
fetched £1.8 million in New York last week) bearing the anti-headline
No News Today, and reminding us, at the bottom of the page, that "6,500
Africans died today as a result of a preventable, treatable disease".
Quite. And if you felt that the world was, perhaps, growing a little
weary of Bono's questionable solutions to the problems of Africa - he
thinks more assistance is needed, although there is an equally
plausible and humane argument that sending less would be more effective
- this one-off venture is unlikely to win you over. By page 5 the
singer himself appears, conducting a conference call with Tony Blair
and Gordon Brown: "Prime Minister, I want to take you to a more
personal place in your trips to this terrible beauty that we call
Africa now... " Blair: "I remember being in Ethiopia and visiting
people who were putting together really exciting projects... " Wait,
though. There's a good story buried at the bottom of page 14. Visiting
Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, friend of the poor, enemy of
capitalism, has booked an entire floor of the Savoy hotel for his brief
London visit. Odd that the guest editor couldn't find more room for it.
But, then, there is guest music critic Condoleezza Rice to be fitted
in, and Stella McCartney interviewing Giorgio Armani. Back on the
leader page, Bono wryly admits that most of us are sick of "messianic

Kylie and Domenico Dolce took time out from busting some grooves on the dance floor to pose with Stefano Gabbana, U2's Bono and The Edge.
Guests were given goody bags containing a pair of Dolce & Gabanna
sunglasses on arrival, not that Bono ever needs any encouragement to
don a pair of shades.
Bono gets too close to the edge The First Post: Bono gets too close to the edge

The deals were struck by Elevation
Partners, a $1.9bn (£1bn) Silicon Valley-based investment firm, of
which Bono is a founding partner. On Monday, Elevation announced an
investment of $250m (£130m) in Forbes Media, a publishing company
managed by Steve Forbes. Forbes ran twice for the US presidency - in
1996 and 2000 - arguing for a flat income tax, prayer in schools and a
ban on abortion. Bono, a champion of Third World debt relief and AIDS treatment, thus becomes part-owner of Forbes
magazine and a number of other business titles serving America's
financial elite. U2 has also joined many business high-fliers in moving
part of its multi-million-dollar operation from Ireland to Amsterdam,
to take advantage of a lighter tax regime. Meanwhile, another of
Elevation's portfolio companies, Pandemic Studios, a video-game
developer, has incurred the wrath of American liberals for creating a
game in which players take the role of mercenaries sent to Venezuela to
depose a Hugo Chavez-like figure. Players of Mercenary 2: World in
Flames are told "if you can see it, you can buy it, steal it or blow
the living crap out of it". Pandemic has also done work creating
computerized war simulations with the Institute for Creative
Technologies, a southern Californian research centre funded by the US
Army.
Lisa Featherstone, a columnist
for The Nation, a liberal magazine based in New York, yesterday
challenged Bono to choose between his investments and his declared
commitment to improving the lot of the world's poor: "If Bono is
serious in his commitment, and not, as one frequently suspects, a vapid
celebrity poser, he should immediately use his financial muscle to
deep-six this horrible video game (right)." Elevation was founded in
2004 by Bono and five prominent Silicon Valley investors and
executives, led by Roger McNamee, a venture capitalist and former
business adviser to the Grateful Dead. Their goal is to invest in media
and entertainment businesses. U2 is known as one of the most
financially astute bands in the world, having retained all rights to
their music. Bono's name helped Elevation raise its first fund, but he
rarely attends the firm's meetings in California. He may care to drop
by before Pandemic's next major release, Destroy All Humans 2, in which
players "have total freedom to destroy anything and manipulate
everything in the world".

Das
Contras have played King Tuts, Queens Hall, Barfly , Cabaret Voltaire,
Princes St. GLadyland, Hobotalk ardens, RSAMD, Royal Concert Hall, The
Ferry, Jamhouse and shared a stage with Marlena Shaw, Candi Staton,
Acoustic and Derrick Morgan.
Das Contras @ Cafe Royal
A cold and wet November evening in Edinburgh was rapidly replaced with the welcoming warmth and soul of Das Contras in Café Royal.Initial impressions of the ensemble on stage were of lounge music. But
only if your lounge is painted a deep terracotta, you have a nightly group of Latino beauties dressed in tight black dresses tossing back large glasses of red wine until four in the morning threatening tosteal your soul and replace it with a never ending madness on melancholy and passion. From beginning to end there was no defining lead person, all of them extremely adept at their relative instruments with attention shifting
from sax to keyboard to bass to guitar to the singing. The band had left any egos at the front door to concentrate on the music. Dave Webster’s head was lost in the sound created by his keyboard nodding in
time to the audience’s reciprocating appreciation, so smoothly and timely executed. This was complemented by Sherman Watson on acoustic and lead vocals, a charismatic presence despite his shambolic appearance. The drums and bass provided the backbone of timeless soul shaking grooves and the funk needed, holding back to add a more subtle
flavour to the slower numbers. The bass guitarist was all over hisinstrument, especially when the strap fell off his shoulder appearing to propose to the drummer on one knee for the rest of the song. The horn section added that final harmony. The sax was (I can’t believe I’m writing this) a tranquil yet also a powerful force driving the band,
while at other times entirely uplifting. A refreshing change to guitar bands, their maturity and obviously
studied dedication to their craft created layers of warmth of sometimesup beat jazz and reggae to despairing sadness. Think Ruben Wilson, gypsy violins, Miles Davies, filterless French cigarettes, The Bosstones, bull
fighting and Ray Manzerick and you’ll probably wonder what the hell I’m
talking about. There appeared to be a fairly large fan base with them and rightly so.
It was not just a gig but a celebration and a chance to party. A joy to watch and even better to listen to.
